Independent Schools Council

About ISC

The Independent Schools Council (ISC) brings together seven associations of independent schools, their heads, bursars and governors. We are proud to support the APPG on Independent Education as its secretariat, providing administrative support, and expert advice.

Through our member associations we represent almost almost 1,400 schools with real diversity of provision. ISC schools vary significantly in size from having fewer than 50 pupils to over 2,400, although half of all schools have fewer than 300 pupils. ISC schools contribute to the whole education system – there are more than 11,000 partnerships between independent schools and state-funded schools.

You can find out more about the work of the ISC, including our annual census of the independent schools sector, and profiles on ISC schools, on our website: https://www.isc.co.uk/
