About Us

The All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Independent Education was founded to bring together members of both Houses of Parliament, from all political parties, to discuss and debate independent schools in the UK.

The APPG holds meetings throughout the year, inviting heads, teachers, and students from both independent and state schools to address members.

The APPG’s purpose is:

To provide a forum to discuss developments in the independent education sector, discuss issues facing the sector, highlight best practice, explore the wider contribution of the sector, share knowledge, and raise matters affecting the sector with government and sector leaders.
